Sarah completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in 2015. She majored in biochemistry and has minors in microbiology and zoology. Her interests are in cancer biology, the focus of both her honours and PhD projects. Currently she is a first year PhD student at the Ingham Institute for Medical Research and her project is entitled “Blood Based Biomarkers in Breast Cancer”. This project aims to develop a ddPCR based blood test to detect ESR1 mutations which are found to cause resistance to aromatase inhibitor treatment in breast cancer.
